School and Library Programs
I am fully vaccinated and currently scheduling indoor, outdoor, and virtual author visits. Please contact me to discuss details. I'd love to visit your school or library in person or virtually.
I offer school visits for kids from pre-K through high school. My fee for a one-day visit for the 2021-22 school year is $1,100. This includes either three large (assembly) presentations or four small group workshops, plus lunch with teachers or students, and time to autograph books, if you wish.
For schools within 100 miles of State College, PA, I can visit for a half day (3-hour) visit. This includes one large-group presentation, followed by a writing workshop, or two small-group presentations. My fee for a half day is $750. For destinations within 50 miles of State College, I will waive travel expenses. For visits more than 50 miles away, schools pay travel and lodging. |
Rebecca visited us in 2016 and 2018 for our annual Author Days event. Rebecca was an amazing presenter and captivated our entire school, comprised of 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders. She had an excellent way of engaging the students and taking questions. She was the favorite author presenter, amongst staff and students, during both of those years!

Animal Superpowers
Grades 2 through 6
Program length: 45-60 minutes My most requested presentation! Students explore the amazing sensory abilities of animals and how they use their super-senses to find food, fight off predators, and survive in their habitat. Students have fun getting into the action with hands-on explorations of animal senses. We read aloud from my book SENSATIONAL SENSES: AMAZING WAYS ANIMALS PERCEIVE THE WORLD and learn how sensory details make writing SIZZLE. This presentation is fast-paced and jam-packed with science and writing content.

Solving an Ocean Mystery
Grades 4 and up
Program length: 45-60 minutes Drawing on the content of her book, BIRDS VS. BLADES? OFFSHORE WIND POWER AND THE RACE TO PROTECT SEABIRDS, Rebecca introduces students to the mysterious world of seabird and to the scientists scrambling to understand this hidden ocean world before it is developed for wind energy. This presentation pulls students into a real-world environmental issue—making alternative energy safe for wildlife—and takes them on an adventure with the scientists who are trying to find answers.
